A recipe that maximizes the average outcome is not a law of physics — this is a really clear way to understand YC's cofounder preference without internalizing it as a verdict on you.
Three profitable businesses built solo is more evidence of sustained motivation than a cofounder is. Their filter is not built to catch exceptions. Frustrating but logical.
